Dhamdaha Assembly constituency, located in Purnia district of Bihar, is witnessing a one-sided contest as counting progresses. JD(U) senior leader and sitting MLA Leshi Singh has taken a strong and decisive lead from the very beginning.

As per the latest numbers, Leshi Singh of Janata Dal United is leading with 43622 votes, continuing her long hold over Dhamdaha. RJD candidate Santosh Kumar is trailing with 25093 votes, while AIMIM’s Mohd Ishtiyaque Alam is far behind with 1242 votes.

Dhamdaha falls under Purnia Lok Sabha constituency and covers Dhamdaha block along with several panchayats of Krityanand Nagar block. The region is known for its historic Hanuman temple, the old Chitralaya theatre, and the reputed Dhamdaha High School.

Since 2000, Leshi Singh has emerged as the dominant figure in the constituency, representing the Samata Party initially and later the Janata Dal United in multiple terms.
