The Kasba Assembly constituency in Purnia district is witnessing decisive trends as counting continues. As per the latest figures, Nitesh Kumar Singh of the Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas has taken a commanding lead with 25234 votes, putting him ahead by 9872 votes.

The Indian National Congress candidate, Md. Irfan Alam is currently in second place with 15362 votes, maintaining a steady vote share but still far behind the LJP(RV) lead. The AIMIM candidate Md. Shahnawaz Alam trails further behind with 4758 votes, indicating a weaker performance for the party in this constituency.

Kasba, part of the Purnia Lok Sabha constituency, has seen multi-party contests historically, with the BJP, INC, RJD, LJP factions, and regional players competing for influence. This year, however, LJP(RV) seems to be consolidating its position strongly as counting progresses.

Earlier rounds also showed Nitesh Kumar Singh building up momentum from the start. INC attempted to close the gap but has not been able to narrow the margin significantly. AIMIM’s tally shows limited traction in Kasba this year, contrasting with some earlier elections in the Seemanchal belt.

Kasba remains a politically active region with a diverse voter base across Kasba, Srinagar, Jalalgarh blocks and several gram panchayats of Krityanand Nagar. The constituency has earlier elected representatives from the INC, BJP, JD, SP, and now LJP(RV) is putting up a strong fight to capture the seat in 2025.
