Kishanganj Election Result 2025: BJP’s Sweety Singh Maintains Strong Lead, INC’s Qamrul Hoda Trails Closely

Counting for the Kishanganj Assembly constituency is underway, and the contest has turned into a clear face-off between the BJP and the INC. According to the latest figures, BJP candidate Sweety Singh has established a strong lead with 16835 votes, giving her an advantage of 4575 votes over her nearest rival.

The Indian National Congress candidate, Md. Qamrul Hoda remains in second position with 12260 votes, keeping the race competitive but still several thousand votes behind. The AIMIM contender Shams Aghaz is currently in third place with 7776 votes, while other candidates, including those from JSP and BSP, continue to trail.

The BJP’s rise in Kishanganj is notable this year, especially given the constituency’s history of swing voting and its demographic distribution. As counting proceeds, the margin between the top two contenders will decide whether the seat remains a close contest or shifts into a comfortable lead for the BJP.

Earlier in the morning, the trends showed Sweety Singh moving ahead right from the initial rounds. Her lead grew steadily as more rounds of counting were completed. INC’s Md. Qamrul Hoda continues to attempt to narrow the gap, while AIMIM’s numbers suggest the party is struggling to retain its earlier influence in the region.

Political observers are closely watching Kishanganj due to its strategic position in the Seemanchal belt. Along with RJD, BJP, INC, AIMIM, and BSP, regional players have also been attempting to consolidate their vote shares in the 2025 Bihar assembly elections.
