Rupauli Election Result 2025: JD(U)’s Kaladhar Prasad Mandal Defeats RJD's Bima Bharti
The Rupauli Assembly seat in Purnia district has delivered a landslide verdict in favour of JD(U)’s Kaladhar Prasad Mandal, who has defeated RJD’s Bima Bharti by a staggering margin of 73,572 votes. The contest, which began as a potentially competitive race, soon became completely one-sided as JD(U) surged ahead from the early rounds.
Bima Bharti — a prominent face and former MLA — failed to gain momentum as the gap widened steadily. Independent candidate Shankar Singh, once considered influential in the area, finished a distant third, signalling a dramatic shift in voter preference.
Rupauli falls under the Purnia Lok Sabha constituency and covers Rupauli, Bhawanipur, and parts of Barhara Kothi. Historically, the seat has swung between JD(U), RJD, Congress, CPI, LJP and strong independents, making it one of Purnia’s most unpredictable battlegrounds.
However, the 2025 mandate is emphatically clear, marking a major victory for JD(U) and a significant setback for the RJD, which was hoping to reclaim its ground in the Seemanchal region.
