Valmiki Nagar Result: Intense Fight Between JD(U)’s Dhirendra Pratap Singh, Congress’ Surendra Prasad
Patna, Bihar: Valmiki Nagar constituency in Paschim Champaran is witnessing a fierce contest between JD(U)’s Dhirendra Pratap Singh and Congress’ Surendra Prasad as counting for all 243 constituencies in Bihar is underway.
As per the early trends, the ruling NDA is ahead leading in 86 Constituencies while the opposition Mahagathbandhan is leading in 58 seats, suggesting a clear edge to the ruling alliance.

JD(U)’s Dhirendra Pratap Singh has been a strong contender in the constituency, having won the seat in 2020 with 74,906 votes. He defeated Congress candidate Rajesh Singh by a margin of 21,585 votes. In 2015, he won as independent candidate, defeating Congress’ Irshad Hussain.
However, the constituency has shown shifting loyalties between the JD(U), Congress, influenced more by local factors than party allegiance.
