The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras announced the results of JEE Advanced 2024 on June 9, 2024. The exam was held on May 26, 2024, for a total of 17,385 seats across 23 IITs in India. A total of 180,200 candidates appeared for the exam and 48,248 candidates have qualified for the next stage, including 7,964 females.
IIT Madras also declared the toppers list of highest scorers in the JEE Advanced 2024. Ved Lahoti from the IIT Delhi zone secured the rank 1 among male candidates whereas Dwija Dharmeshkumar Patel from the IIT Bombay zone got an overall rank of 7 and rank 1 among female candidates.

Aditya from the IIT Delhi zone and Bhogalpalli Sandesh from the IIT Madras zone secured ranks 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Ved had set his eyes on the JEE-Advanced for the last 7 years and secured an overall rank of 119 with 295 marks out of 300 marks. Very fond of learning new things and reading, Ved has always been a studious student and has won various national and international science awards.
Ved believes in smart work always listens to his teachers and follows their instructions to avoid unnecessary hard work. Maths was his favorite subject and practicing maths and physics questions is something he loves the most. Playing chess and cricket are his favorite free time adventure. According to Ved, he always tries to follow a routine and never compromises with an 8-hour regular sleep. Ved gives the credit of his success to his mother and maternal grandfather who are the true motivational factors during the exam.

Aditya cleared JEE Advanced 2024 with 346 marks out of 360 and said that perseverance is the key to success. Aditya has won several Olympiads and MVPP since class IX. Aditya gives the credit for the success to his parents and teachers. He focused on working on weaker areas, practicing, appearing for tests regularly, and being consistent which helped him to develop an examination temperament.
Dwija Dharmeshkumar Patel from Gujarat’s Rajkot scored 332/360 and got an overall All-India rank of 7. She appeared for the JEE Advanced from the IIT Bombay zone. As Dwija’s father is a mathematics teacher, she developed a liking for the subject at a very young age. Dwija joined the Allen Coaching Institute in Rajkot from class 11. The young engineering aspirant studied for 8-10 hours a day and still managed to watch her favorite web series including Friends and Suits. The JEE Advanced topper does not have her phone and uses her mother’s phone for studies which helps her to spend unnecessary time on her mobile. Being consistent and practicing tests are the key to her success, said Dwija.
