The academic collaborations are anchored by the partnership between Wipro Research and Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani, which will drive breakthrough research initiatives by sponsoring PhDs and research collaborations.
Wipro Research aims to bridge the gap between academic excellence with industrial expertise, driving engineering innovation and reaffirming Wipro’s commitment to shaping the future through collaboration and impactful research. Wipro Research will be headquartered in Bengaluru and will leverage a collaborative model that brings together in-house research teams, academic partnerships, and startup incubation.

Sundararaman G, Scientist & Head (Designate) – Wipro Research stated, “Wipro Research will focus on building cutting-edge technologies with a two to five-year horizon, in collaboration with BITS Pilani as the anchor institute. Our efforts will center on application-relevant projects that deeply engage with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering teams across the Wipro Infrastructure Engineering group business entities. Key research areas include Motion Components and Autonomous Control, Electronics, Network and Communication, Computer Vision Technologies, Material Science, and Manufacturing Processes, among others.”

The collaboration with BITS Pilani is central to our academic engagement strategy, focusing on the sponsorship of PhD and master’s students.
