Congress Constitutes Odisha Election Management Committee

Congress President has approved the proposal for constitution of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee’s election management committee for ensuing general elections to Lok Sabha and Odisha Legislative Assembly – 2024. The party has formed the committee under the chairmanship of Prasad Harichandan.

The committee consists of Niranjan Patnaik, Jayadev Jena, Bhakta Charan Das, Srikant Jena, Sushila Tiria, Sarat Raut, Rama Chandra Khuntia, Bijay Kumar Patnaik, Panchanan Kanungo, Jaganath Patnaik, Nakula Nayak, Navjyoti Patnaik, Manas Choudhary, Hamid Hussain, Bandita Parida, Subhendu Mohanty, Manoj Jena, Debashish Bhuyian, Shri Sitansu Das Kishore Jena, Loknath Maharathy and Rajiv Patnaik.

Manoranjan Das will be the convenor and Bankanidhi Behera and Vikash Garabadu will be joint convenors of the committee.

The election management committee will also have all former presidents and CLP leaders, all functionaries deputed from AICC for Odisha, all heads of frontal organisations, departments and cells of Odisha PCC and Chairman War Room/ Media & Communication Department, Social Media and Digital Platforms of Odisha PCC as ex-officio members.

Odisha has 21 Lok Sabha constituencies and 147 assembly seats. 13 Lok Sabha seats are unreserved and the rest are reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) category .

Both Lok Sabha and assembly elections in the state will take place in four phases on May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1.

The results will be announced on June 4.
