Puducherry Election Results 2026 Live Updates: Counting Begins For 30 Seats

Puducherry: The counting has started in Puducherry as the union territory witnesses direct contest between uling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the All India NR Congress (AINRC) and the BJP, and the opposition alliance comprising the Congress and its regional partners.

While the ruling NDA alliance led by current chief minister N Rangaswamy hope to return to power as counting nears end. The AINRC is leading in eight seats, independents candidates in three, BJP in two and the Congress in one seats. The trend shows an edge to the ruling AINRC-led NDA alliance in the Union Territory.

During the election, a record voter turnout of 89.87% was reported, marking the highest participation ever in the Union Territory since its merger with India in 1964.
