
Kalabhavan Navas Found Dead in Hotel Room
Kochi: Malayalam actor and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Navas (51) was found dead in a hotel room. His body was found in a hotel in Chottanikkara, Ernakulam.
Navas was a familiar face in Kerala’s entertainment industry as a mimicry artist, singer, and actor. It is suspected that the cause of death was a heart attack. He had returned to his room after a film shoot. He was staying at the hotel for the shooting of the movie Prakambanam. He was seen last in the movie Detective Ujjwalan.
The police have initiated inquest proceedings. Navas entered the world of television and cinema through mimicry. He became well-known among Malayalis through the Kalabhavan mimicry troupe. His wife is actress Rehana.
His father, Aboobacker, was a theatre and film actor. Navas’ brother, Niyas Backer, is also a well-known television and film actor. Navas performed in numerous shows alongside Niyas.
