An adult entertainment website has reportedly offered a staggering $50,000 (approximately ₹4.3 crore) to acquire the rights to a deleted sex scene from HBO Max’s acclaimed series The White Lotus. The revelation came after creator Mike White confirmed that the scene was intentionally cut from the show.
The scene in question featured actors Sarah Catherine Hook and Nicholas Duvernay and was originally part of the Season 2 finale, which ran for 90 minutes.
According to Mike White, the scene didn’t make the final cut, a decision he discussed on The White Lotus post-show podcast.
Reports also suggest that the adult site not only wants to obtain the rights to the deleted footage but is also keen on organising a Q&A session with the actors for fans.

They’ve even expressed interest in recreating the scene, aiming to generate massive buzz among the show’s followers.
The second season aired between October 30 and December 11, 2022, while the third season premiered on February 16, 2025, concluding on April 6.
The release of Season 3 was delayed due to the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike. HBO has already renewed the series for a fourth season. It streams on Max concurrently with its linear television broadcast.

Jennifer Coolidge received widespread praise and multiple awards—including two Primetime Emmys and a Golden Globe—for her roles in the first two seasons.
Murray Bartlett also won an Emmy for his performance in Season 1. Creator Mike White has been honored with three Emmys for his work as a writer, director, and producer on the series.

The White Lotus, created by Mike White, explores themes of privilege, power, and exploitation through the lens of guests and staff at a fictional luxury resort chain. The first season premiered on July 11, 2021. The much-anticipated third season began streaming on April 6, 2025.
The White Lotus was initially conceived as a miniseries and greenlit in October 2020. However, following its success, HBO restructured it into an anthology series in August 2021.
Each season takes place in a different exotic location: the first was filmed and set in Hawaii, the second in Sicily, and the third in Thailand.
