Bhavana’s ‘Anomie’ Hits Theatres Today, Marking Director Riyas Marath’s Malayalam Debut

The film marks the directorial debut of Riyas Marath, who has previously co-written films such as Neeli and Diwanji Moola Grand Prix.

Produced by Bhavana Film Productions in association with Blitzkrieg Films, Panorama Studios and APK Cinemas, Anomie is positioned as an emotionally driven investigative thriller with psychological undertones.
Bhavana plays the role of a determined woman searching for her missing brother, while Rahman appears as a police officer leading the investigation into the case.
The film also features Binu Pappu, Arjun Lal, Shebin Benson and Vishnu Agasthya in key supporting roles. The narrative unfolds around a disappearance that gradually reveals deeper emotional and moral complexities, blending suspense with character-focused storytelling.
Visually, Anomie brings together a strong technical team. Sujith Sarang handles cinematography, while editing is by Kiran Das. The background score is composed by Harshavardhan Rameshwar, marking his Malayalam cinema debut after notable work in other Indian film industries.
The film’s first look and promotional materials had earlier drawn attention for their restrained yet intense tone, with makers highlighting the story’s focus on loss, resilience and the psychological impact of unresolved trauma.
Anomie was initially scheduled for release on January 30 but was later postponed to February 6.
