Murali Gopy’s Political Thriller Ananthan Kaadu Hits Theatres Today
The much-awaited political action thriller Ananthan Kaadu, written by acclaimed screenwriter Murali Gopy and directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar, has arrived in theatres today (June 25).
Shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil, the film marks the second collaboration between Murali Gopy and Jiyen Krishnakumar after Tiyaan.
The movie features Tamil actor Arya in the lead role and boasts a star-studded ensemble cast that includes Regina Cassandra, Nikhila Vimal, Sunil, Indrans, Dev Mohan, Appani Sarath, Vijayaraghavan and Santhy Balachandran.
Set during the late 1980s and early 1990s, Ananthan Kaadu explores a turbulent period in India’s political and social history.
The story unfolds in the slums of a state capital and follows a group of men whose lives are shaped by violence, power struggles and political influence. Against this backdrop, the film examines the complex relationships between crime, politics and survival during a transformative era.
Arya plays Vetri, a central figure caught in the middle of these shifting power dynamics. Murali Gopy also appears in a key role as Thankaraj.
