Congress Convenes India Bloc Meeting As Assembly Election Results Trend

In light of the election results, where Congress was unexpectedly surpassed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, the Congress has convened an INDIA bloc meeting. The meeting is scheduled to be held on December 6. Congress”s national president, Mallikarjun Kharge, has invited INDIA Bloc members to Delhi, where a meeting will be held.

The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance(INDIA) is an opposition front constituted under the leadership of Congress to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. There are 28 parties included in the alliance, namely All India Trinamool Congress (TMC), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Am Aadmi Party (AAP), Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation, etc.

As per the exit poll, the Congress was expected to win in Chhattisgarh; however, when the election results trend, the grand old party of India is trailing behind the BJP in the state. Only in Telangana could the party hold the dominant position, with a 58-seat lead.
