Lady DSP Officer Allegedly Love-Traps Chhattisgarh Businessman, Extorts Rs 2 Crore

Raipur, Chhattisgarh: A Raipur-based businessman, Deepak Tandon, has alleged that a serving female Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) locked him in a love trap, extracting money and other valuables worth around Rs 2 crore.

The accused police officer, DSP Kalpana Verma, took cash, a diamond ring, a gold chain, and even a luxury car from the businessman, as per the complaint. The businessman claimed that he was also pressured to register a hotel property — Atmospheria Hotel on VIP Road — in the name of the officer’s brother.

The businessman says he first met the officer in 2021, and the connection grew over years, developing into a close personal relationship. During the period, the officer demanded money and valuable gifts, as per reports by Navbharat Times. 

In their complaint, the victim and his wife alleged he was forced to transfer more than 2 crore to the accused officer. Notably, the DSP’s brother has also registered a counter-complaint against the business executive. Police are now investigating both sides’ allegations and there has been no official FIR registered so far.

A prominent officer, Kalpana Verma, serves in the Chhattisgarh Police. She has worked as a DSP in multiple districts and is currently posted in Dantewada. The DSP has denied all the allegations, stating that all the chat screenshots being circulated are fabricated and part of a conspiracy to defame her. She claims that her family already has a financial dispute with the businessman’s family, which is currently pending before a court, adding that the case is only to harm her reputation.
