India’s Parliament will have its Budget Session from January 31 to April 4. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2025-26 on February 1, 2025, in the Lok Sabha, marking her eighth consecutive budget presentation. The entire session will have 27 meetings.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju took to X to announce that President Droupadi Murmu has approved summoning both Houses of Parliament for the Budget Session 2025 from January 31 to April 4.

President Droupadi Murmu will address the joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament at the commencement of the Budget Session 2025.

In his post, Rijiju stated that the President will address the joint sitting of both Houses on January 31 at 11 am in the Lok Sabha.

  •  January 31: President Droupadi Murmu will address a joint session of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
  • January 31 to February 13: The first part of the Budget Session will have nine meetings.
  •  February 1: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget
  • February 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will respond to the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address.
  • March 10 to April 4: Parliament will meet again to discuss the budget and demands for grants from various ministries.
  •  April 4: The Budget Session will end.
