
UPSC Prelims 2025 Admit Cards Out Amid Demands For Postponement
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit cards for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) Prelims scheduled to be held on May 25, 2025. Candidates can download their hall tickets using their login credentials – application number and date of birth from the official website – upsc.gov.in.
UPSC will conduct the CSE 2025 for 979 vacancies this year for various services, including Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Services (IPS), and Indian Forest Services (IFS). Furthermore, 150 posts will be filled via the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2025.

The UPSC CSE is conducted every year to recommend candidates for various Group A and Group B services, including IAS, IPS, IFS, Indian Railway Accounts Service, Indian Postal Service, Indian Trade Service, and other allied services.
Meanwhile, the UPSC CSE admit cards are out, candidates from Jammu and Kashmir are demanding the postponement of the examination due to the disruption caused by the India-Pakistan conflict last week, in several areas in border areas, mainly in Jammu and Kashmir.
Aspirants from the Poonch, Rajouri, Akhnoor, Samba, Kathua, Kupwara, Baramula and other areas in J&K including border areas in Punjaba and Rajasthan are reportedly, requesting to delay exam amid the damage of infrastructure, relocation of residents, psychological trauma and mentral distress.
As per the J&K representatives, it would be a grave injustice to deprive the affected aspirants depriving them of a fair chance at realising their dream to become civil servants.
On May 7, 2025, India launched targeted strikes against the terrorists hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied territories, under Operation Sindoor, in retaliation to Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
