
Criminal Lawyer B A Aloor Dies At 56 In Kochi
Kochi: Prominent criminal lawyer B A Aloor died today at a private hospital in Kochi at the age of 56. He was undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments and had been in critical condition, according to the reports.
Known for representing some of the most controversial and high-profile accused in Kerala’s recent legal history, Aloor remained a polarising figure in the public eye.
His legal career spanned decades and was marked by his fierce courtroom presence and willingness to take up cases most others avoided.

Advocate Aloor gained public attention for appearing on behalf of Govindachamy, the accused in the Soumya murder case, a move that sparked heated debates across the state.
He continued to represent accused individuals in other headline-making cases, including the Jisha murder case, the Koodathayi serial murder case, the Elanthoor human sacrifice case, and the Vismaya dowry death case.
Despite facing widespread criticism, particularly during the Koodathayi trial, Aloor maintained that every individual, regardless of public opinion, deserved legal representation.
He also took on the defense for Riyas Aboobacker, who was allegedly planning a suicide attack in Kerala, and Ameer-ul-Islam, the accused in the brutal rape and murder of law student Jisha.

He had also earlier expressed interest in defending Pulsar Suni, the main accused in the actor assault case that shook the Malayalam film industry.
