Kerala: Kerala police on Thursday, October 1, interrogated Anto Augustine, Managing Director of Reporter TV at the Kalamassery police station in connection with a case registered against him for making alleged defamatory statement against chief minister VD Satheesan.

The police are also questioning two other unidentified persons in connection with the alleged defamatory remarks he made against the chief minister. He was summoned again by Kalamassery police over alleged defamatory remarks about VD Satheesan.

The reporter channel MD had claimed that two individuals approached his news channel with unverified reports regarding Satheesan’s alleged second marriage, sparking outrage against the alleged fake marriage certificate and fabricated proof.

Augustine had claimed that the chief minister had secretly entered a second marriage, prompting defamatory move against the businessman, who is already under the law enforcement agencies’ eyes for alleged financial fraud in connection with footballer Lionel Messi’s Kerala visit.

Recently, police arrested Augustine during a raid linked to Messi visit fund transaction, after finding alcohol exceeding the individual possession limit. The channel MD had to stay in jail for several days during judicial custody before walking free after the bail approval.
