RSS Workers Arrested After Attack On Children’s Carol Group In Palakkad
Palakkad, Kerala: Members of a Christmas carol group, including children, were allegedly attacked during a house-to-house carol programme in Palakkad.
Police have reportedly arrested RSS workers in connection with the incident, which has sparked widespread outrage and renewed concerns over religious intolerance during the festive season.
The incident took place late Sunday evening in the Pudussery, Kasaba area of Palakkad.
According to police, the carol group was moving through the neighbourhood singing traditional Christmas hymns when they were stopped by a group of men who objected to the programme.
What began as a verbal confrontation soon escalated into violence.

Police said the accused questioned the group’s presence and demanded that they stop singing. An argument followed, during which members of the carol group were allegedly assaulted.
Musical instruments were reportedly damaged, and the sudden aggression left several children visibly shaken. Though no serious physical injuries were reported, parents said the emotional impact on the children was severe.
Based on complaints filed by the victims and eyewitnesses, Kasaba police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including unlawful restraint, voluntarily causing hurt, and disturbing public peace.
Police later confirmed that those arrested are RSS workers. Officials said statements from carol group members and local residents have been recorded, and further investigation is under way to determine if more people were involved.
