This project aims to revive the historic legacy of Fleet Street, the heart of British journalism, having a focus on local news, community-driven stories, and cultural richness.

Originally from Kerala, India, he moved to the UK in 2003 and has since made significant strides in the media sphere, particularly within the Asian diaspora in the UK.

Before launching London Daily, Azeez worked as a correspondent for leading publications such as Khaleej Times, The Times, The Sunday Times, and the BBC.

He used his personal savings to launch the media company Asian Lite digital newspaper and has won the International Association of Bookkeepers (IAB) New Business of the Year Award in 2007.

The London Daily marked its launch this month, entering a UK media arena transformed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine conflict.

This venture also marks a major milestone, as it’s the first major foray into mainstream UK publishing by a Malayalee since VK Krishna Menon co-founded Penguin Books in 1937.

At the helm is Azeez, who brings extensive experience as executive editor. Joining him is renowned journalist Mihir Bose, former BBC sports editor and Evening Standard columnist, who will serve as consulting editor.

The newspaper also intends to organise a London Economic Forum this summer to highlight investment opportunities and strengthen London’s position as a global financial hub.
