Hockey India Announces INR 15 Lakh Prize Money For Paris 2024 Bronze Medallists

Following India’s 2-1 victory over Spain in the bronze medal match at Paris 2024 on Thursday, Hockey India announced prize money for the players and its support staff.

The governing body of India’s men’s hockey team announced a cash prize of INR 15 lakh for all the members of the Paris 2024 bronze medal-winning squad and INR 7.5 lakh for all the support staff. The announcement was made on the official X-handle of Hockey India.

It was a special win for India and a perfect farewell for the custodian PR Sreejesh as he leaves the national team with a podium finish at the Olympics. He was also a crucial member of India during the bronze medal-winning run at Tokyo 2020.

Besides him, India captain Harmanpreet Singh led from the front in Paris 2024, netting 10 goals to become the highest goal scorer at the quadrennial showpiece event.

India continues to be the most successful team in the Olympics. This was their fourth bronze medal at the Games, after bagging the first-two, at Mexico 1968 and Munich 1972. Their decorated cabinet also holds eight gold and one silver medal.

India had broken a 41-year-old medal drought at Tokyo 2020 and continued to add to their tally at the Paris Games.
