'Cleaner And Modern': Instagram Changes Its Wordmark Logo After A Decade
In a major upgrade, Meta owned social media platform Instagram has changed its wordmark. The platform has introduced its first text logo update after around ten years.
Sharing the new wordmark, head of Instagram Adam Mosseri called it “cleaner and more modern“. He said it references to the original and the simplicity and craft that’s always made it Instagram, adding that it is time refresh the app.

The new lettering sits somewhere between cursive and print, and the strokes are smoother and the overall shape feels more compact. The middle of the name now takes a second to decode.
Instagram has set aside the usual rebrand route of replacing personality with a clean sans-serif. The new wordmark still feels handmade, expressive and recognizably Instagram. It just asks the eye to work a little harder
