Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO announced the Wave 2 of Copilot (AI) “UI for AI” at the recent Wave 2 event on Monday as they shared exciting updates on how Copilot for work is evolving. The company has rolled out over 700 updates and has incorporated 150 new features. Nadella also revealed that Copilot is now programmed with OpenAI’s new GPT-4o model.

Copilot Pages: Multiplayer AI Collaboration
Copilot Pages is now dynamic and has a persistent canvas designed for multiplayer AI collaboration. This feature allows users to edit, add, and share content with others in real time. Copilot Pages will be available for Microsoft 365 Copilot customers by the end of September 2024.
Enhanced Copilot in Microsoft 365 Apps
Microsoft has improved Copilot capabilities across its 365 apps that the company with Wave 2, is assuring customers with even better AI experience.

Excel
Copilot in Excel is generally available and will support non-table data, new formulas, and conditional formatting. Additionally, Excel with Python is in public preview, combining Python’s power with Copilot for advanced analysis.
PowerPoint
The new update will enable customers to help create polished presentations as the narrative builder is now generally available for PowerPoint.
Teams
Copilot in Teams can reason over meeting transcripts and chats that ensure no question or idea is left behind. This feature will be available by the end of September 2024.
Outlook
The new update will help users focus on important emails which allow them to prioritise inbox to analyse content and context. This feature will be in public preview in late 2024.
Word
Copilot in Word integrates web, work, and email data, streamlining writing processes. This feature will be rolled out by the end of September 2024.
OneDrive
Copilot in OneDrive quickly finds information across files, providing insights and summaries. This feature will be generally available by the end of September 2024.
