Apple’s fourth-generation iPhone SE 4 is set to launch today on Wednesday, with most of its specs already leaked.

However, one crucial detail remains unknown: the price. Apple has successfully kept the cost of the new iPhone SE under wraps, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that it will come with a higher price tag than its predecessor, which currently sells for $429 (approximately ₹34,000).

Taking to social media, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook welcomed the newest to the family, “iPhone SE”, which is set to launch on Wednesday.

Although the exact price increase is unclear, Gurman hints that it will remain competitive with entry-level smartphones from Samsung and Google.

For context, the budget-friendly Pixel 8a was priced at $499 (around ₹39,000), and rumours indicate that its successor will retain the same price point, with a possible higher-end variant costing $599 (approximately ₹47,000).

This new phone is expected to majorly upgrade Apple’s most affordable smartphone. The iPhone SE 4 might sport the A18 chip, which could enable Apple Intelligence features. It may still have a single camera, but rumours suggest a 48-megapixel camera with better zoom capabilities.

The iPhone SE 4 might also ditch the home button in favour of Face ID and feature a larger screen. To comply with EU regulations, the phone may switch to a USB-C port. This could be the first Apple device with an in-house developed cellular modem, as reported in the Bloomberg report.

The iPhone SE 4 is expected to launch today alongside the PowerBeats Pro 2 earbuds on February 11, 2025 Additionally, Apple might also release a new MacBook Air with an M4 chip and a new low-end iPad in the first half of the year.
