Dubai, UAE: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently introduced the Dubai Digital Nomad Visa, also known as the Dubai Virtual Working Program. The digital nomad visa, ideal for remote workers seeking relocation, offers a 1-year opportunity to live and work in a Gulf nation for Rs 8,900.

The visa allows its holders to work remotely and live in Dubai for a year with the condition that the work should be in a company outside the UAE. And for this visa, the applicants do not need a sponsor, but should meet certain eligibility criteria. The cost of a one-year Dubai digital work visa is approximately AED 372.5 (Rs 8,900.)

The most important eligibility criteria to apply for the visa is that the applicant should be an employee of a company registered outside the UAE, or self-employed with a business registered outside the country. The applicant should also have a minimum monthly income of AED 12,856 (Rs 3,06,350 approximately) and should submit proof of employment for a company outside the UAE for at least one year.

To apply for the Dubai virtual visa, the aspirants need to submit a valid passport with a minimum of six months’ validity, health insurance that covers accommodation in Dubai, proof of employment, clean criminal record from your home country, passport-size photo, most recent paystub showing monthly income or your 3-month bank statement, and the proof of accommodation.

After collecting all the essential documents, the applicants can apply online for the mentioned visa through the GDRFA-Dubai portal or the Virtual Working Program website, or in person at an Amer Center in Dubai. They should fill in the application form and upload the required documents while paying the visa fee. The visa fee is around AED 372.5 (Rs 8,876 approximately). However, covering other expenses, the applicant may have to pay a total of around Rs 53,377.

They will get update about the visa approval and receive an entry permit if applying from outside the UAE. The visa approval process may take an average of 5-14 business days.
