Washington, DC, US: Addressing the crowd of thousands on the eve of his return to the White House, President-elect Donald Trump declared a “brand new day” as “the curtain closes on four long years of American decline.” The 47th President of the United States vowed to work with “historic speed and strength” after taking the oath.
“The Largest Deportation Exercise in American History”
Addressing a series of promises, Trump ensured to impose severe limits on immigration on his first day in office. Vowing to begin a crackdown on the “invasion” of immigrants at the Mexico border. “Very soon we will begin the largest deportation exercise in American history,’ the incoming president said. Illegal immigration has been a key issue for the Republican campaign for the presidency.

According to experts, however, Trump’s promise of deporting millions of undocumented migrants would potentially cost tens of hundreds of billions of dollars.
Trump also vowed to end birthright citizenship for everyone born in the US.
Pardons for January 6
He is also expected to issue pardons for individuals convicted of taking part in the January 6 riots led by Trump supporters at the US Capitol in 2021.
Preventing ‘World War 3’
The President-elect also promised to “end” the Russia-Ukraine war along with promising to “stop the chaos in the Middle East.” He further added, “I will prevent World War 3 from happening—and you have no idea how close we are.” Trump is expected to make announcements regarding the same.

Tariffs
Tariff war may be renewed as Trump has said the he would impose a 25 percent tariff on everything imported from Mexico and Canada. He also wants to add a 10 percent tariff to duties already imposed on goods from China. He could achieve this with an executive order.
Trans People in Sports, DOGE, and DEI
Trump told his MAGA supporters that he would stop transgender women from competing in female sports categories and shift control of education to the American states.
He also promised to ramp up artificial programs, establish the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), direct the military to form an Iron Dome missile defence shield, and eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies from the military. He also promised to make records available related to the 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy.

While some of his promises can be fulfilled by a mere executive order, for others, Trump would need the help of Congress and constitutional amendments.
Trump is expected to sign over 200 executive order actions on Monday, including legally binding and other presidential directives. “Every radical and foolish executive order of the Biden administration will be repealed within hours of when I take the oath of office,” said Trump.
