Hero MotoCorp Launches Limited-Edition Centennial Motorcycle

Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the Centennial, a limited-edition motorcycle based on the Karizma XMR, marking a tribute to the Founder Chairman, Brijmohan Lall Munjal, on his 101st birth anniversary. This exclusive edition, limited to just 100 units, was first showcased at Hero World Day in January 2024 and is now set for auction. The proceeds from this auction will be dedicated to societal welfare, with deliveries commencing in September 2024.

The Hero Centennial Edition is the result of meticulous design and development by Hero’s Centre for Innovation and Technology in Jaipur and the Hero Tech Centre in Germany. Each unit of this handcrafted motorcycle will be auctioned to Hero’s employees, associates, business partners, and stakeholders. Additionally, Hero is inviting its customers to share their stories through the “My Hero, My Story” campaign. Top entries, as judged by a panel of experts, will receive the Centennial.

Design, Specs & Features

The Hero Centennial stands out with its distinctive design and craftsmanship, featuring extensive use of carbon fibre and milled aluminium. The bike sports a sharp bikini fairing and dual-pod LED headlamps, giving it a sporty and aggressive look. Key design elements include a red-coloured exposed frame, swingarm, engine cover, and front forks. The muscular fuel tank with carbon fibre extensions, a solo seat with a carbon fibre cowl, and a floating tail section enhance its aggressive appeal. Each unit is uniquely identified with a special edition numbered badge on the side covers.

Hero has incorporated a lightweight aluminium swingarm for improved ride experience and carbon fibre body panels for sleek aesthetics and structural rigidity. These contribute to the bike’s low kerb weight of 158 kg, enhancing throttle response, handling, and braking performance.

The bike features top-tier hardware, including a gas-charged, fully-adjustable mono-shock from Wilbers and 43-mm upside-down front forks with damping adjustment. It rides on 17-inch all-black, diamond-cut alloy wheels and is equipped with a high-performance carbon fibre and titanium Akrapovic exhaust system.

While Hero has not disclosed specific powertrain details for the Centennial, it is likely to share the Karizma XMR’s 210cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve engine. The Karizma XMR engine produces 25.15 bhp at 9,250 rpm and 20.4 Nm of peak torque at 7,250 rpm, paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch.

The Hero Centennial Collector’s Edition is a testament to Hero MotoCorp’s commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and societal contribution, embodying the legacy of its founder while offering a unique, high-performance ride.
