Hero MotoCorp has declared that, as of February 1, the EV and Emerging Mobility Business Unit (EMBU) will become a completely separate entity. The carmaker established the EMBU in 2019 to promote advancements in cutting-edge transportation, such as electric cars. In order to “lead the EV revolution and next-generation mobility,” the EV & Emerging Mobility Business Unit will become a completely autonomous and empowered entity.
Hero MotoCorp, the biggest two-wheeler manufacturer in India, is working harder to raise its mid-single-digit EV market share. In 2023, the firm began selling electric scooters under the Vida brand, and it has since been progressively growing its national presence. With more than 180 dealers and 203 touchpoints, Vida operated in more than 116 cities last year.
The Vida V1 and Vida Z are the two versions that the firm now offers under the Vida name. It recently revealed plans to use the Vida brand to extend operations to the UK and Europe in the second part of the year. Hero MotoCorp will launch the Vida Z as its debut model in these markets.The carmaker believes that electric mobility and international trade have a lot of promise. Munjal stated last year that the corporation is considering international business and EVs as significant long-term income generators.

With plans for a dozen new models, ranging from entry-level two-wheelers to dirt motorcycles to high-performance e-bikes, Hero MotoCorp is expected to accelerate its mainstream zero-emission market push over the next two to three years.
One of the company’s most important initiatives is an electric version of the well-liked Splendor motorbike. The device is expected to emerge in 2027 after nearly two years of development at its technological centre, CIT, in Jaipur. Hero MotoCorp and Zero Motors, a US-based manufacturer of electric motorcycles, have partnered to launch two e-bikes in 2026–2027 that are comparable to 500–600 cc versions. Additionally, it is collaborating with Ather Energy, in which it owns around 44% of the business, to enhance the nation’s electric car ecosystem. The carmaker is creating hybrid, flex fuel, and ethanol-based fuel technologies in addition to putting more emphasis on EVs.
