Jeep has officially started accepting bookings for the Meridian facelift which is going to come in 5 seat options. The company has made an announcement on social media handles to create. Abuzz around its facelift launch. Jeep had announced the launch of two products in India in 2024 earlier, the first was the all-new Wrangler and the second will be facelifted Meridian. The buyers who are keen can book the updated Meridian on official website at a token amount of Rs 50,000. The Meridian made its debut in 2022 and the Jeep brand lovers are looking forward to the upcoming facelift which will be its first significant update. Jeep Meridian will continue to compete with the likes of Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tiguan as well as SUVs like Toyota Fortuner and MG Gloster.
The new Meridian will receive some functional upgrades and shall be available in both five and seven-seat layout. This will allow Jeep to price the Meridian quite a notch up in comparision to other SUV’s. Currently the Meridian is priced between Rs. 31.23 lakh to Rs. 39.83 lakh. The 5-seat version of the Meridian will also offer a generous boot space which presently stands at 170 litres with the seven-seat version. Another big change will be the introduction of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with features like collision resistance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist.
There are copper accents in place of the chrome trims on its exterior and the cabin has a three-layer dashboard with a grey finish instead of the outgoing model’s beige one. The facelift will also carry a 10.1-inch infotainment system, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, Alpine-sourced nine-speaker audio system. It will also get a wireless smartphone charger, front ventilated seats, six airbags, 360-degree camera, and tyre pressure monitoring system(TPMS) as an added feature.
Jeep Meridian facelift will be powered by the same 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine which churns out 168 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. This powertrain is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 9-speed torque converter automatic gearbox with both available in 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrains. The brand has been thinking of bringing a petrol engine for the Compass in India, which could feature in the Meridian as well.
