TVS Apache RTX 300 Design Patent Filed: Confirmed A Launch Timeline

Although TVS has expanded its motorbike line into other markets, the business has not yet created an adventure tourer under its own name. When TVS releases the Apache RTX 300, its first ADV, this will all change. Test mules of this motorcycle have been spotted several times in recent months, and a trademark application for this nameplate was made some time ago. The Hosur-based bikemaker has now disclosed further details about the future adventure tourer’s appearance through the filing of a design patent. A new platform created by TVS to support its new engine, which was unveiled at MotoSoul 2024, will serve as the foundation for the RTX 300.

The patent matches the previously reported spy photos of the RTX 300. In addition to its tall windshield, twin LED headlights, LED turn indicators, and LED tail light, the motorbike also has a muscular fuel tank, a rear tyre hugger, split pillion grab rails with an integrated luggage rack, a bulky engine sump guard, and a semi-faired body up front.

Hardware-wise, the motorbike is probably constructed on a trellis frame and has a raised handlebar, a monoshock at the back, and completely adjustable upside-down front forks. In contrast to the slicks depicted in the patent, it seems to stand on 17-inch rear and 19-inch front wheels that ought to be fitted with dual-purpose tires. Multiple riding modes, switchable rear ABS, and a dual-channel ABS system are anticipated standard on the Apache RTX 300. Additional anticipated features include turn-by-turn navigation, a USB charging connector, and a smart TFT display with Bluetooth and TVS’ SmartXonnect application interface.

The newly constructed 300cc liquid-cooled unit will be used by the Apache RTX 300. This unit can generate 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm and 34.5 horsepower at 9,000 rpm. A six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch will be mated to the engine. Additionally, the powertrain will benefit from ride-by-wire technology, which enables cruise control and riding modes. With its robust hardware, high-end amenities, and potent 300cc engine, the TVS Apache RTX 300 represents the brand’s debut in the adventure touring market. It boasts thrilling touring capabilities and is designed to be versatile.
