Upgraded Kia Carnival To Debut By October In India: Prices Starting Around Rs 50 Lakh

The new Kia Carnival MPV is set to launch in India by October 2024. The model will be  arriving as a full import. This facelifted version of the Carnival, previously showcased as the KA4 at the Auto Expo, will be priced starting from around Rs 50 lakh. Speculations are rife that it could reach up to Rs 60 lakh due to high import duties.

Despite its high price, the new Carnival is expected to fill a gap in the market as an affordable luxury MPV.  Carnival is imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), because of its high import taxes. It will provide a more economical option compared to high-end models like the Toyota Vellfire, which starts at Rs 1.22 crore, and will be positioned above the Innova Hycross, which is priced up to Rs 30.98 lakh.

The new Carnival will be available with a variety of powertrain options in international markets, including a 3.5-litreV6 petrol, a 1.6-litre petrol-hybrid, and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. It’s is expected to make an Indian entry with its 2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine borrowed from earlier generations.

The feature rich Kia Carnival will be equipped with a variety of technologies,  like a 12.3-inch display, upgraded  AC design and audio controls with new positioning, and a drive selector with rotary. In addition to the existing features, it will include a camera in the front and rear, a head-up display, a rear-view mirror, an updated digital key, and ambient lighting across the dashboard. The seating arrangements will be available in 7-, 9-, and 11-seater setups. The seating options are yet to be confirmed for the Indian market.

The launch is expected in the month of the festival season i.e, October. The dealers are hopeful for the delivery of the Carnival to begin before Diwali. To further add to its lineup Kia will also introduce EV9 an electric SUV close in December.

With the launch of Kia Carnival happening during the festival season in India, the dealers are hopeful for an increase in demand for MPV’s. The feature rich Carnival is going to draw select customers despite its high initial price due to the rise in import duties. The customers are provided with fresh alternatives in the premium MPV segment and EV segment which is going to further boost sales of Kia’a lineup of vehicles.
