
40 Students From Bihar's 'Village Of IITians' Clear JEE Main Exam 2025
Over 40 students from Bihar’s Patwa Toli village of Gaya district has cleared the JEE Main Exam 2025. The Patwa Toli is famously know as the ‘village of IITians’, as its has produced over 300 IITians and more than 1000 engineers, since 1991. In 1991 Jitendra Patwa became the first person to clear the IIT exam from Patwa Village.
Jitendra Patwa later settled in USA and run an NGO, “Vriksha We The Change”, which supports students from his village to prepare for IIT exam. This year include a total 28 students from Vriksha Sansthan, a free coaching run by former IITians to facilitate children from low-income groups.
The Village is home to nearly 20,000 residents, mostly weavers and was earlier known as the ‘Manchester of Bihar’ for its textile industry. Now it produces dozens of engineers every year, despite the financial hurdles faced by the families.

Among the top scorers, Sharanya secured 99.64%, Alok 97.7%, Shaurya 97.53% and Yash Raj 97.38%. Girls equally secured high ranks among the 40 selected students from the Patwa Toli.
Notably, total of 14,75,103 candidates appeared for the exam. On April 18, NTA announced the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Paper 1 result.
Those candidates who appeared for both Session 1 and Session 2, the best of the two sessions’ marks were used to prepare the final rankings.
Now top 2.5 lakh candidates from the JEE Main Session qualify to appear for the JEE Advanced exam.
