Bini Muduli, First Girl From The Bonda Tribe To Clear Odisha Public Service Exam

Bini Muduli becomes the first girl from the Bonda community, a primitive tribe in the Khairput block of Malkangiri district to clear the Odisha Public Service Examination (OPSC). She secured 596th rank in the OPSC exam declared on Saturday.

Notably, the Bonda tribe is categorized as Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). The Bonda tribe is found in the Malkangiri district of Odisha and is mostly concentrated in Khairaput block.

Bini belongs to Khemguda village near Govindapally panchayat in Malkangiri district. The daughter of a cook at Mudulipada High School and an Anganwadi worker studied at Govt. SSD Girls High School Mudulipada, followed by higher education at Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya, Malkangiri, and an MSc in Botany from Vikram Dev University, Jeypore.

To clear the Odisha Public Service Exam, Bini did a self-study using online resources and YouTube. CMO congratulated her for her success via ‘X’.

The result has brought joy to the district as two other candidates from Korukonda block cleared the exam. Swetashree Mohapatra topped the State Civil Service Examination 2022. Out of the top 10 candidates, five are women. A total of 683 candidates cleared the examination and out of them 258 are women.

Odisha Civil Services Examination was conducted in 3 phases – preliminary examination, main examination, and personality test. A total of 92,194 candidates applied for the OCS-2022 exam held on October 15.
