The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSEC) has published the CBSE class 12 result today on May 13, 2024. Result is available on the following platforms – cbseresults.nic.in, www.cbse.gov.in, cbseresults.nic.in, results.digilocker.gov.in and umang.gov.in. The CBSE will give chance to students who are interested to apply for the supplementary examination to better their marks if they are not satisfied with their CBSE class 12 results.
The CBSE class 12 exams were conducted from Feb 15, 2024 to April 2, 2024. The exams were conducted in 18417 schools and 7126 exam centres.
This year the overall pass percentage improves by 0.65% and remains 87.98%. Girls outperform boys with 6.40 percent. More than 90% of girls cleared the CBSE class 12th board exams 2024.
CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Examination
Those who are not satisfied with the CBSE class 12 result or have not cleared the exams can apply for the supplementary examination.
Earlier the supplementary examination was called as compartment examination which was changed in accordance with the recommendation under the National Education Policy 2020.
Under the National Education Policy, 2020 students must be provided more opportunities to improve their performance. Hence the provision of supplementary examination allows Class XII students to appear in one subject and Class X students to appear in any 2 subjects.
The following category of the students will be eligible to appear in the supplementary exams
- Those students who were unable to pass 1 subject and placed in compartment category can apply for the supplementary exams.
- Those who were declared by replacing 6th and 7th subject can appear in the failed subject.
- Class XII students who have passed the exam but wants to improve their performance in 1 subject can apply for the supplementary exams.
The supplementary exams will be conducted form July 15, 2024. The syllabus of the examination will be the same.
