The University of Delhi issued a clarification over a notice recently circulated on social media announcing a winter break for students. The fake notice alleged that considering the severe air quality in the national capital and the implementation of GRAP-IV measures, the university has declared a winter break from November 19 to November 27, 2024.
While sharing the widely circulated notice Delhi University has denied issuing any such notice and called it fake.

The notice reads, “In order to tide over the prevailing environment pollution caused by the Severe Air Quality and implementation of GRAP-IV measures in Delhi, it has been decided to declare November 19 to November 27, 2024 as winter break for the university and its colleges. However, all the prescheduled examinations and interviews will be held without any changes in the schedule This is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority”.

However, the university decided to conduct online classes instead of closing down the university. As per the notice, the online classes will held until November 23, 2024, and the regular classes will resume on November 25, 2024.
