IIT Bombay Receives 22 International Placement Offers Of Over 1 Crore

IIT Bombay releases the statistics of the campus placement activities held in the 2023-24 session. As per the institute’s report, 1475 students got placement till June 30, 2024, which is the second highest number ever by the institute. An overall 74.53 percent of students received placement offers in the institute.

The placement report mentioned that 543 companies registered for the placement this year, 388 participated in the placements and 364 companies made offers which is 12 percent higher than last year’s. This year saw the maximum participation of companies in the last 7 years. Out of these offers, 78 were international offers with 22 offers of above Rs 1 crore per year.

The placement season at IIT Bombay followed a Hybrid model with Campus placements in December 2023 and an interview process throughout the year. The total number of registered students who participated in the recruitment drive is 2414 and out of the total registered 1979 actively participated. However, the placement percentage remained at 74.53 percent.

As per the report, students received an annual average CTC salary package of over INR 23 LPA and a median salary of INR 17.92 LPA.

IIT Bombay placements saw participation from multiple sectors including Core Engineering, Information Technology, Software programme, Research and Development, Consulting, Finance, Banking, High-end Technology, and Technical Services.

Engeneering & Technology remained as the top recuriting sector with 430 selections followed by IT sector which was the second biggest recruiter after the engineering sector.

Out of the total 1475 recruitment 78 recruitment were placed outside India. Total 775 placemments were in MNCs in India and 622 were in Indian Companies.

In the B.Tech courses female participation and recrutiment rate also remained high. Out of the total 192 female who participated in the recruitment 152 were received placements.
