IIT Delhi has been placed among the top 150 universities in the world by the QS World University Rankings 2025. The Institute has achieved an overall rank of 150, improving 47 places from last year’s 197th rank. QS World University Ranking highlights the substantial progress of universities in the academic domain.
The Institute is among the top 100 world universities concerning Employer Reputation, a QS parameter designed to evaluate the perceptions of global employers on which institutions are providing the most job-ready graduates.
The Institute has been featured among the top 150 universities in parameters like Citations per Faculty (this ratio measures the average number of citations obtained per faculty member and is an estimate of the impact and quality of the scientific work produced by universities) and Academic Reputation (the Reputation Survey is designed to evaluate the perceptions of global academics on which institutions are demonstrating academic excellence).

The Institute has been featured among the top 5 Indian institutions under multiple QS Rankings parameters such as Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Employment Outcomes, and International Research Network.
IIT Delhi has surpassed 90% of institutions in terms of rankings this year from a list of over 5000 institutes evaluated by the QS.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject 2024, announced in April 2024, ranked IIT Delhi among the top 50 institutions in the world in the broader subject area of Engineering and Technology with a rank of 45. The Institute was also ranked among the top 100 world institutions in eight specific subject areas.
