The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing of the plea that challenged the transparency of the conduct of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for postgraduate medical admissions (NEET PG 2024). The court said to list the matter on the Non-Miscellaneous Day.
The counsel for the petitioner pointed out that the information memorandum is not published and no SOP is available on how the exam was conducted. The counsel said the states are also confused about the counseling procedure.
The petitioners demanded the disclosure of the answer keys and other measures to ensure transparency about the examination.
The bench comprised of CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra, directed the National Board of Examination (NBE) to file the reply to the petition that alleged the lack of transparency in conducting NEET PG 2024 exam.

Reportedly, candidates raised questions about the discrepancies in the ranking process and urged the NBE to release the official anser keys and to establish a grievance portal to address the issues.
The NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule is still not released by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Several aspirants and doctors have sought the union education ministry’s intevention to expediate the admission process.

NEET PG 2024 exam was held on August 11, 2024 and the result has also been announced. Yet no admission and counselling process is initiated by the medical council.
