NEET Special Counseling for 1,000 MBBS Seats Begins: How to Register, Last Date, Eligibility

The Central Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has notified a special stray round of counseling to fill more than 1,000 MBBS/BDS/BSc Nursing seats across the country that may otherwise go vacant. The MCC has stated that registration for NEET UG 2023 special stray vacancy counseling will begin on October 31.

Interested candidates can register on the official website, mcc.nic.in, to make their presence known in this special counseling session. The registration window will be open until November 5. Candidates can choose and lock their preferences between November 1 and 5. The seat allotment result for this special counseling will be published on the official website, mcc.nic.in, on November 7, and the last date for joining is November 15.

According to the announcement, candidates must report to their respective colleges between November 8 and 15. The MCC said that the details of the vacant seats are available on the MCC website.

Here is how you can register for NEET UG special Counselling 2023:

  • Visit the official website, mcc.nic.in.
  • Click on the “registration” link.
  • Fill NEET UG roll number, password, security pin to log in.
  • Enter application form
  • Complete the fee payment.
  • Review the application form and download it for future reference.

In the NEET UG Counselling 2023, the following documents are required:

  • NEET UG admit card and rank card
  • Photograph
  • Signature
  • Birth certificate (or Class 10 pass certificate)
  • Class 12 marksheet
  • Reservation category certificate
  • Character certificate
  • Medical certificate
  • Id proof (Aadhaar card, passport, voter ID, PAN card, driver”s license, ration card)

Here are the eligibility and other instructions you should follow to take part in the special stray vacancy round:
Eligibility for participation:

  • Candidates without any prior seat allocation in the All India Quota or State Quota are eligible to participate in the special counselling.
  • Candidates, who were allocated seats in MCC Round-3 or later but did not, accept are not eligible to participate.

Security deposit:

The security deposit of candidates who do not accept their allocated seats during the special stray vacancy round will be forfeited.

  • Such candidates will also face disqualification from appearing in the NEET exam the following year
