The UGC-NET examination that was set to be held on August 26, 2024, has been rescheduled for August 27, 2024, due to the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami. However, the rest of the examination schedule will remain intact.
An official notification by the National Testing Agency (NTA) informed about the change of the examination date. “On account of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on 26th August 2024, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has decided to reschedule the Examination of 26th August 2024. The exam scheduled for August 26, 2024 will be held on August 27, 2024”, the notification read.
The testing agency will conduct the UGC NET exam in Computer Based Test (CBT) Mode from August 21 to September 4, 2024. The exam is scheduled to be held for 83 subjects in different cities across the country.
The UGC NET 2024, June session exam was conducted on June 18, however, the education ministry canceled the exam and it is being held again for 83 subjects. Candidates wanted the ministry to consider the earlier examination as the charges of paper leak were reprotedly found to be incorrect, the petitoner argued. The Supreme Court of India refused to entertain the plea challenging the decision to hold the re-examination for the UGC-NET exam. The CJI said that there will be chaos all over” and declined the plea.
NTA has released the advance city intimation slips for UGC NET exams scheduled for August 21, 22 and 23. Candidates who registered for the June session exam can visit the official website to get the UGC-NET intimation slips.
