The UGC NET June 2024 application window is closing today, May 15, 2024, by 11:59 PM. The National Testing Agency (NTA) was requested by candidates to extend the last date of the online application form submission for UGC-NET June 2024, enabling the aspiring candidates to apply. Earlier, the application deadline was May 10, 2024. Candidates can visit the NTA official website to register and update the application form.
Under the UGC NET, June 2024 online applications are accepted under the following categories
- Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor
- Appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.
- Admission to Ph.D. only’ in Indian universities and colleges
Candidates can now apply for the UGC NET June 2024 till May 15, whereas the last date to deposit the fee is from May 16 to 17. The correction window will remain open from May 18 to 20, 2024.
The Deadline for online submission of the UGC – NET June 2024 application form has been extended to 15th May.

The application fee for UGC NET June 2024 is Rs 1150 for the general category, Rs 600 for EWS/OBC category, Rs 325 for SC/ST/Third geneder and No fee for the PwD category.

UGC-NET June 2024 – Exam Pattern
The UGC NET exam will have two papers
- paper 1 based on research methodology
- paper 2 based on subject-specific questions
The UGC NET exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to assess candidates’ understanding of their respective subjects, general awareness, and research aptitude.
The total duration is 180 minutes (3 hours) with no breaks in between the two papers.
UGC NET June 2024: How to apply
Step 1: Go to the official website of the NTA at ugcnet.nta.ac.in
Step 2: Register using name, email and mobile number
Step 3: Login using credential and complete the application form
Step 4: Upload documents including photo, signature and academic certificate
Step 5: Make online fee payment and submit the form
Step 6: Download and save/printout the application form for futher use.
