In Ambedkar Nagar assembly constituency, Dr Ajay Dutt won with 4,230 votes. BJP’s Khushi Ram Chunar, and Congress’ Jai Prakash is at second and third position respectively. The Ambedkar Nagar Assembly Constituency lies in South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. Major contestants from the party were AAP’s Ajay Dutt, BJP’s Khushiram Chunar, and Congress’ Jay Prakash.

During the 2020 Assembly election, Ajay Dutt won the seat with the margin of 28,327 votes. He own by defeating BJP’s Khushiram Chunar, who won 34,544 votes. Congress’ Yaduraj Choudhary came third with only 2,138 votes.

During the 2015 assembly election, Ajay Dutt won with the margin of 97,491 votes. He defeated BJP’s Ashok Kumar Chauhan, and Congress’ Prem Singh.

The constituency has been under the rule of AAP from 2013. AAP has been ruling ever since it started to contest in its first election. The part was formed in 2012. Before AAP, Congress has been at the helm since 1993 t0 2013.

The Assembly election in Delhi was held on February 5, with over 15 million voters casting their ballots across 70 constituencies. A total of 699 candidates, including 96 women, contested the elections.

The triangular contest in the national capital created palpable tension. While AAP and Congress are part of INDIA alliance on national level, the two parties are contesting against each other in Delhi. If BJP won the capital, it would be a huge comeback after 27 years.
