As the counting for the 288 assembly constituencies ends, BJP candidate Atul Bhosale has defeated former Maharashtra chief minister and Congress’ Prithviraj Chavan. Securing 123885 votes, Bhosale emerged triumphant by a margin of around 39355 votes, according to the date provided by Election Commission.
During the 2019 assembly elections, Chavan, a veteran Congress leader, defeated Bhosale by a margin of 9,513 votes. Karad South falls in the rural Satara district and is part of the Satara Lok Sabha constituency.
