NDA Clears Bihar Assembly Floor Test As Opposition Walks Out

NDA Clears Floor Test In Bihar, Says JD(U) Leader KC Tyagi

Nitish Kumar led NDA won the trust of vote today (Monday)  in Bihar while the opposition including the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Congress and Left parties walked out of the Assembly, NDTV reported.

Janata Dal (United) leader KC Tyagi said that the NDA has cleared the test. In a video shared by the news agency PTI, the JDU leader was seen congratulating the NDA for achieving the majority. Accusing the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of detaining its MLAs, KC Tyagi further said, “The Congress created an atmosphere of fear by sending its MLAs to Hyderabad. Similarly, the RJD made its MLAs prisoners. I am glad that we have achieved the majority.”

JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar had left the ruling Mahagathbandhan alliance and joined hand with BJP, forming another government with the support of BJP MLAs.

However, after leaving the INDIA bloc, the JD(U) had faced concerns as three of its MLAs missed an important legislators meeting in Patna on Sunday. Another meeting held at Minister Shravan Kumar’s house on Saturday was also skipped by six of its MLAs. After this, a video shared by the news agency ANI showed shifting its MLAs into a hotel near the Assembly.

After the state assembly passed a no-confidence motion against the speaker Awadh Bihari Choudhary, an RJD leader, he was removed from the position with the support of 125 members against 112 members who voted against the motion. It was hence considered a show of Nitish Kumar led-NDA government”s strength before the floor test held today. During the resolution, some RJD MLAs including Chetan Anand, Neelam Devi, and Prahlad Yadav were seen sitting on the government’s side in the assembly

While the RJD MLAs were accommodated at its chief Tejaswi Yadav’s residence since Saturday, the BJP MLAs too were relocated to a resort in Bodh Gaya before returning to Patna on Sunday. The Congress MLAs after arriving from Hyderabad had their stay at Tejaswi’s residence before the floor test today. All seemingly fearing poaching attempts
