
Actor Soubin Shahir Arrested Over 'Manjummel Boys' Financial Fraud Case
Ernakulam, Kerala: Malayalam actor-director-producer Soubin Shahir was interrogated on Monday for the second day in a row in connection with a cheating case regarding the box-office hit movie Manjummel Boys.
The Kerala High Court had earlier granted anticipatory bail to Soubin, his father, Babu Shahir, and partner, Shawn Antony, in connection with ‘Manjummel Boys’ cheating case registered in Kochi. The court had directed that the actor be released on bail in case of an arrest.

On Monday, the accused people, including Soubin, arrived at the Maradu police station around 10.30 am in response to a summons issued by the police last month. Police grilled the actor till evening, during which they gave statements regarding the movie’s finances and their transactions with the complainant.

The case complainant, Siraj Valiyathara, a native of Aroor in Alappuzha district, alleged that the trio failed to provide the promised share of profits from the film, after it became a box office hit. Siraj claims he invested Rs 7 crore in the film only after they assured him of 40% profit share from the movie.
