Sushin’s next project is Amal Neerad’s ‘Bougainvillea’, starring Kunchacko Boban, Jyothirmayi, and Fahadh Faasil which is scheduled to release on October 17. The song “Sthuthi” from the movie has already garnered millions of views on YouTube. However, the laity commission secretary of the Syro-Malabar Sabha Almaya Forum filed a complaint against the movie “Bougainvillea”  for allegedly distorting Christian beliefs through the song “Sthuthi”.

Forum Secretary Tony Chittilappilly sent a mail to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav seeking strict laws to ban songs which are said to be insulting Christian beliefs. The complaint demands censorship of the song and potentially the entire film.“Bougainvillea” is directed by Amal Neerad and produced by Jyotirmayi and Kunchacko Boban under Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures. The movie features an ensemble cast, including Jyotirmayi’s return to screen after a long hiatus, Kunchako Boban, and Fahad Fazil with Sushin Shyam’s music ensemble.
