Ajay Devgn Returns in ‘Raid 2’ - High-Stakes Thriller Premieres on Netflix June 26
Mumbai, June 24: After a six-year wait, Ajay Devgn is back in uniform, and this time the raid is louder, bolder, and more personal. Raid 2, the much-anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit Raid, is all set to premiere exclusively on Netflix on June 26, promising fans an explosive continuation of the fight against corruption.
Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who helmed the original, Raid 2 once again plunges viewers into the gripping world of income tax enforcement, political deceit, and moral conflict. Ajay Devgn reprises his role as the stoic and relentless IRS officer Amay Patnaik, whose brand of justice doesn’t wait for courtrooms—it storms into living rooms.
Joining the cast this time is Vaani Kapoor, who adds fresh energy to the narrative. While her role has been kept under wraps, early glimpses hint at a strong, pivotal character in a world dominated by men, power, and betrayal.
The film is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series, and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar under the Panorama Studios banner. The makers have promised a “fresh mission, a new city, and a more dangerous enemy,” raising the stakes for Devgn’s character as he takes on systemic rot and political nexus once again.
With its sharp writing, tense atmospherics, and a protagonist known for his grit rather than gimmicks, Raid 2 positions itself as a slow-burn thriller built on real-world intensity rather than over-the-top spectacle.
Netflix’s backing gives Raid 2 a global reach, allowing audiences worldwide to witness the layered storytelling and powerful performances that have made Devgn a mainstay in India’s action-drama genre. If the original film had audiences holding their breath, Raid 2 looks ready to knock it out of them.
As the poster says: “He doesn’t wait for justice. He raids it.” And starting June 26, viewers can stream the action unfold – only on Netflix.
