Drishyam 3 Confirmed: Ajay Devgn To Return As Vijay Salgaonkar In The Abhishek Pathak Film Directorial (Image-X/ajaydevgn)
Drishyam 3 is confirmed. Ajay Devgn‘s most celebrated crime thriller franchise is all set to meet thriller fans with a fresh plot. The actor is expected to reprise his role as Vijay Salgaonkar soon.
As per a report, director Abhishek Pathak will be taking over the upcoming third installment of the franchise. The production house Panorama Studios International confirmed the upcoming thriller through a formal disclosure filed with the Bombay Stock Exchange on May 29, 2025.
A fan-shared letter about the formal announcement filed with the Bombay Stock Exchange has been widely shared on social media. The formal letter also details that under Regulation 30 of SEBI’s (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) regulation, Panorama Studios has entered into a production agreement with Digital 18 Media Private Limited for the production of a Hindi film titled Drishyam 3.

The letter further revealed that the film will once again star Ajay in the lead role and will be directed by Abhishek Pathak, who helmed the blockbuster, Drishyam 2 (2022). However, fans have to wait a little longer for the makers to officially announce the film on their social media handle.

Recently, in March at the press conference of L2: Empuraan in Delhi, Mohanlal was asked about the third film ( of the original Malayalam franchise), and his answer left fans even more curious. Mohanlal explained that making a sequel that meets expectations is a big challenge. The Thudarum actor said, “I cannot make any comments on that because it’s in the pipeline.”

Drishyam 2 made an impressive mark at the box office by earning around Rs 345 crore. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film stars Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav and Rajat Kapoor in lead roles.
The original Malayalam franchise, Drishyam, was directed by Jeethu Joseph and starred Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Haasan, Esther Anil, and Aasha Sharath. Upon its blockbuster response, the film was later remade into Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
