The post quickly went viral, with fans celebrating the return of Georgekutty, one of Indian cinema’s most iconic characters.
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Drishyam 3 will explore the next phase in Georgekutty’s life.

The film was officially launched in September 2025 with a traditional puja ceremony near Kochi. Mohanlal began working on the project around the same time he was honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
Producer Antony Perumbavoor said the makers decided to move forward with the third part only after detailed discussions, given the massive success of the first two films. According to him, Georgekutty’s story still had more layers to explore.
Drishyam 3 was shot across multiple locations, including Thodupuzha, Vagamon, and Ernakulam.
Interestingly, the Malayalam version will hit theatres months before its Hindi counterpart. The Hindi Drishyam 3, starring Ajay Devgn, is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026.
